the 20 th Alabama Infantry Regiment used to be prepared at Montgomery, with recruits from Bibb, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Perry, Russell, Tuscaloosa, and Washington counties, on sixteen September 1861. continuing to cellular in November and to Knoxville in February 1862, the regiment was once put less than basic Danville Leadbetter of cellular. Transferred to basic Seth M. Barton's Brigade, the 20 th operated for your time in east Tennessee and complicated into Kentucky with normal Kirby Smith, being more often than not Alexander Reynolds' Brigade, Henry Heth's Division.
The regiment was once engaged within the consistent combating from Dalton to Atlanta, being conspicuous at Rocky Face Ridge, and wasting seriously at Kennesaw. It participated at Jonesboro, affliction critically. It moved into Tennessee with common John Bell Hood, and misplaced seriously at Nashville. From that box, the twentieth handed into North Carolina and fought at Kinston and Bentonville. on the shut of the conflict, the twentieth used to be consolidated with the thirtieth Infantry Regiment at Smithfield, nine April 1865.
